The creative brain is always looking for patterns, for the underlying string that connects one moment to another, one person to another. We look for these patterns because our creative work is built on those same structures. We observe in order to be inspired, and to find the frameworks we can use to make our own work meaningful. So, yes, encounters in nature will have us trying to make meaning of what just happened. Or at the very least, make us more present in the moment, more aware of how we are connected to the world around us, and consequently, more open to inspiration wherever it finds us.
What are your favourite encounters in the wild? How did they shift your thinking?
